Sovereign is a specialist business-to-business (B2B) communications agency. We support Australia’s warfighting capability by ensuring new and existing defence-related products and services are presented optimally to relevant stakeholders in government and the private sector.

Our experienced in-house team is primarily located in Australia and includes communications strategists, content writers, designers, digital marketing specialists, and media relations experts.

Adam Benson, CEO
Adam Benson is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Sovereign and its parent company, The Recognition Group. Adam has more than 30 years of experience creating and executing public relations and marketing programs for companies that sell technical, high-value products and solutions. Adam is passionate about helping B2B organisations build scalable, integrated communications strategies that support their growth plans.
Adam has previously served as an infantry soldier with the Australian Army Reserves Infantry Corps.
Michelle Taylor, head of client service
Michelle Taylor is a strategic and practical PR and marketing professional that provides broad support to the Sovereign team based on her deep experience and with a keen focus on delivering client outcomes. Her role includes overseeing integrated campaigns and accounts that ensure PR and marketing programs complement each other.
John Lenton, Business engagement lead
John Lenton serves as business engagement lead with more than 30 years of experience in sales and marketing. He specialises in strategic planning, sales training, and developing go-to-market strategies for multinational companies and startups in the B2B sector. John manages complex sales processes that encompass request for information (RFI) and tender responses, customer relationship management (CRM), and sales analytics. He also leads sales teams, handles customer acquisition strategies, and directs long sales cycles. John leads client and partner engagement at industry events, showcasing Sovereign’s solutions and building lasting relationships.
Samantha Lenton, head of operations
Samantha Lenton has spent more than 25 years helping organisations that sell technical, high-value products and services communicate their offerings in a compelling way, including strategy and campaign design and execution, developing and editing high-impact copy, and managing processes, workflows, and risk.
